I found a very nice 65 truck partially redone and looks good and need to sell only problem is its BBW and I just hate the look has anyone took a BBW cab and make it back to the small window? I hate to pass up this opportunity on a repaired cab and all of the cabs i find around here the brow or the inside of the cab is rusted thru and need fixed this one has been repaired and painted with new rockers cab corners front fenders not sure what to do thinkin bout buying to see if it grows on me

Re: anyone swicth a BBW cab to the small back window?
BBW trucks are NOT very common around where I live. I almost never see one driving around and have never seen a BBW short stepside in the wild yet.
I have the back half of a BBW cab that will soon become the donor for swapping my small window out in my 64 short step.

Did you say "my wife says buy it"......and you are questioning that???? Does anyone else think he needs his head examined? I'm thinking CT scan or MRI at least and possibly followed by a brain biopsy. If she says go.....spend the dough

Jeeez, I really prefer the BBW. To each their own.

Re: anyone swicth a BBW cab to the small back window?
I think it would be way more involved that the sbw to bbw switch.
the easy part: you can put a sbw inner cab piece in , just like they do on the swap to bbw. the hard part, you will have to get a sbw outer window panel, and weld all around the outside edge. It almost might be easier to swap the whole roof: if you cut the cab low by the body line, most of the body work would be hidden behind the bed.

Re: anyone swicth a BBW cab to the small back window?
If you don't like the BBW then buy a truck with a SBW instead. Good solid BBW cabs are too much at a premium to be cutting up and making into something that is already a dime a dozen.

I have a a pretty solid small window factory a/c that I would consider trading for your BBW cab if you make the deal on your end

You will find that your wife was right all along. Too many times I have not listened and she was right. How long you've been married? If you haven't been around these trucks you will like it eventually. look at the trucks on the site here and you will start to like the bbw. |

Re: anyone swicth a BBW cab to the small back window?
I like both style windows but it you are going to drive the truck daily, I'd go with the small window because the headlights from cars behind you can drive you nuts on the big windows. Been driving these trucks since 1972, hate the windshield glare on my bbw trucks.

Re: anyone swicth a BBW cab to the small back window?
Trade someone for a SBW cab for your BBW. I'm sure someone would be more than happy to do it. The great thing about a BBW is no blind spot. I have both and like the BBW window better.

Any pics brotha??? I think BBW looks better on a fleetside truck. And SBW on a stepside.

Re: anyone swicth a BBW cab to the small back window?
thats a great looking start!
I'd like to see someone do a medium back window. you know, bigger than a small, smaller than a big, medium. its just flat glass and a gasket. make it a moon like an outhouse or a pair of opening portholes.
