Truck out of commission.
Decided to wash and drive my truck today. I had not moved it in almost a week. Pump the gas for an easy start. The pedal went to the floor and didn't return. Check the carb connection. All okay. Go back into the cab and pull the pedal back. Grab the back of it and cable is broken. Stock pedal cable finally broke. Does anyone know the cable length?
25.5" or 25.375" Has anyone installed a stainless steel braided Spectra cable? With an Edelbrock carb? Wonder if now would be good time to slap on the 1407 and ditch the 1406? ZZ4 would go from 600 CFM to 750 CFM |

Re: Truck out of commission.
He's prob right usually the bigger you go in edelbrock the crappier they run
I'm just joking. Throw it on there and tell us how she does eddies have air door secondary's that pretty much makes them variable cfm carbs which is good for the street Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Truck out of commission.
A couple of years back this happened to me as I was starting up my truck to go to work.
Called up Henna Chevrolet and they were able to get me a new throttle cable assembly pretty quick, though I'm sure Capitol Chevrolet is a bit closer to you. I've had good luck with their parts dept as well.

never used that throttle cable honestly don't know the size I had to replace mine a few years ago local chain parts store had on in stock 14 bucks stock replacement. as far as the carb size depends if you want to do some tunning. I ran a 770 for a while on a 350 took a while to get it right ended up going back to a 600 but that 770 did run better wide open

Re: Truck out of commission.
GM specs call for a 750 CFM carb. I've driven a 355 HP dynoed Firebird car. I know what 355 HP feels like. The ZZ4 feels under powered. Articles have been written on them too. I think it still has hidden power. I''ll purchase the new cable tomorrow. I'm taking it off this afternoon. I will install it on Wed/Thur. I'll pull out the 750 and look it over. It's in a sealed plastic bag. It came off a 350 with a performance cam '77 Vette. The Vette had trouble using it. I think engine bay temps were a problem. The Vetter owner removed the carb and sold it to me for $75! Almost brand new too!!
