Can i reuse these axle bearings
67 Dana 44 rear axle. I had these bearings pressed on and they were brand new. They have not even been used on my truck yet. I had them pressed back off to powdercoat the ends. Now my question being that they are still brand new can i have these and the same collors pressed back on or am i looking for trouble doing that. Rod.

Re: Can i reuse these axle bearings
Interested to see what others will say..... seems like there should be no problem as long as they haven't been damaged in the process, and I wouldn't think they would be damaged. Unless I saw/felt something wrong with them, I would use them.

Re: Can i reuse these axle bearings
Replace the bearings & lock rings, Don't risk an axle coming out or having to take the axle back out over a bearing.

Myself, I wouldn't hesitate to re-use them as log as there is no visible damage. LockDoc

Re: Can i reuse these axle bearings
End game you cycled the lock collars or more correctly had someone else do it. If they were very careful and used a splitter that fit very closely and was loaded evenly the bearings might be usable. Often bearing damage will not show up without a load or a little use. The lock collars are done even if you are sure which axle they were on.
