factory antenna locatoin
Could someone give me the measurements on where their factory radio antenna is located? I'm getting ready to install one and want to be as accurate as possible.
Thanks |

Re: factory antenna locatoin
The antenna location is not the same for all years '60-'66. I know for sure that '65 and '66 had the antennas a lot further forward on the cowl panel.
Do a search for the threads about original or restored trucks. You can see the general location of the antennas on several of these trucks. I'm sure someone can provide a template to locate the antenna. |

Funny, I never noticed how different the locations were until this post. Here are shots of my '62 (patina), and '65 (turquoise). Hope this helps.

Re: factory antenna locatoin
Thanks everyone. I do recall reading that dealers often installed the antennas and did so in varying locations. I'm glad to see that the '65-'66 trucks were further forward.

Re: factory antenna locatoin
Wow...apparently I have a '65 with a '62 panel. I want to fill the hole and use a hidden antenna. Anyone have any experience with the hidden ones?

The section of the antenna's that are exposed are similar but the bases vary different years.
