Yeah - FIRE is GOOD

Nuttin' like fire to move a stubborn part. The OEM rubber bushings in the sway bar were stuck beyond reasonable effort. I could have spent 15-30 minutes drilling and pushing the bushings out, BUT mans friend is FIRE. Light’em up with a torch and let them burn for 2-3 minutes and the old ones drop right out!

I let the bar cool, cleaned the ends and drove the new one in with an old ¾” socket. Worked like a charm. This bar and these bushings have been sitting on the bench for over a year at least. Glad to get them out of the way.

P.S. Burning Rubber do be stinking though!

Yep, burning them is the easiest way to remove rubber bushings. Once they burn for a little and the rubber starts to ooze out, you can typically knock the center out. Definitely a job to be done outside though
