Rear U-bolt torque ?
I bought a 85 Blazer last Saturday and one of the first things I did was remove the 4" lift blocks out of the rear, (no lift in th front). Bought the correct stock size u bolts and they list torque specs on the label as 265 ft lbs for 5/8 bolts. Is this correct? I haven't worked on leaf springs except for shocks on my truck.

Thanks, Have another question, do I have to get shorter or a stock type lenth shock now that I removed the 4" lift blocks?

I read somewhere once that you shouldn't reuse u-bolts, that they were set for a one time use when you torque them down. I knew that and still reused a set once in a pinch and never replaced them. All I can say is they didn't fail, but I'm not sure what the general consensus is.

The u-bolts are new, I was wondering if the rear shocks may be to long without the 4" lift blocks and should be replaced with a stock length shock?

My mind saw u-bolt, not shock, sorry. If it really does have shocks for a 4" lift, then yes, you do have to replace them.
