1972 Cheyenne Super tailgate for sale
Here is a nice (not perfect, or take-off) tailgate from a 72 Cheyenne Super. It is all original paint, no rot (surface rust and sunburn on the top). The PO started to spray some primer over the "patina" on top, and I sanded it off to make sure there was no filler or hidden damage hiding underneath. The bottom of the gate is in impeccable condition. It is not twisted or bowed, as you can see it stands on it's own. The top of the gate unfortunately has a few dings in it. A chrome cap would cover all the dings and add some bling, since it already has the deluxe trim. The outside front is very clean. I replaced the woodgrain on the original tailgate band, and the original chrome letters are very nice and shiny, only the "R" has one small pit on it. The upper right and left trim are new MAR-K pieces from Brothers, and fit very nicely as pictured. The center chrome piece is original and nice. The stainless handle cover is still in good condition, and the latch and hardware work flawlessly. The spot welds are all intact and have no separation. The inside of the gate has normal wear, but is straight and has one ding towards the bottom.
$475 Shipped in the CONUS
