can anyone suggest somebody here in the south central pa area that does good carb work and maybe an estimate on what getting one of these rebuilt costs.

You can do it yourself. There's a book specifically for the Rochester Q-jet I'm reading right now that spells it out in pretty simple terms. It's called "Rochester Carburators, by Doug Row". I only bought it because I thought it would help me to understand my 2G, but it only covers the service and serious tuning of the Q-jet (which I should have guessed before hand!).
You can get it at Amazon.com for pretty cheap. ------------------ '69 3/4 ton C20 2wd w/ 350ci/400THM and a wood bed! '69 3/4 ton Custom 20 2wd w/ ORIGINAL 350ci/4sp Manual and a wood bed (parts beast). Seattle, WA. *See pics of my trucks and project at www.webshots.com!

The rebuild kits come with fairly good instructions too. It isn't that hard, just time consuming. My father learned how to rebuild them from the instructions and was rebuilding them at his parts store for several years. He realized that he was spending more time rebuilding them than he was charging so he stopped doing it. Check out some books like new69owner suggested and see if you want to take it on or not.

mine has a good amount of play in the throttle shaft blades on the primaries i am wondering if there is something i can do to fix it or if there is a machining process involved. this is going on to an edelbrock manifold will i need some kind of adapter? i am trying to stay away from the edelbrock carb because i am not very happy with the way the one on my blazer works at slow speeds and i heard these carbs are good for offroading.
