Need help Starter type- 72 350/manual/3ontree
Howdy, I just got a 72 SWB, stock 350, 3 on tree a few days ago. Was making a slow grunting sound and then would start. Today just clicks. So I replaced the battery ground and made sure all the other wires were tight. Recently got cold here in Austin too. Lights are strong and don't dim when cranking. Just makes clicking sound now. Probably need a new solenoid...right?

Most auto parts store will test your starter for free. It sounds like the starter is tired and may need to be replaced or rebuilt.

Probably...going to buy the mini starter. Excited not to have to reinstall the heavy original POS.
