i got a used air compresser from a guy,when i got it home and hook it up,it had air coming out of the plug where you put oil in,must have air getting in crankcase,can anyone tell me what the trouble is,and how to fix it,thanks

i will say the rings are shot

there might be a little air coming out of the vent, especially on a used compressor
it should stop when the compressor is off, if not then the check valve in between the pump and the tank is leaking
if there is excessive air coming out of the vent the rings may be shot
the check valve should be in the line from your compressor and screwed into the tank

I agree with everything said so far. I think the question is - how much air is coming out?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but there will be crankcase pressure from the pistons an crank moving. If the rings are worn it will get worse.

I guess the question is: How does it pump up? How does it work for you? Does it spray oil out?

they is very little air coming out of vent when compressor is off,thanks

very little air is coming out,it takes 7 or 8 min.to pump from 0-125,every now and then it will spray a little oil out,thanks
