Junkyard steering column
Hey,
My tilt steering column on my 80 4x4 silverado blazer fell apart and so Question #1: anyone know if the one I found at my junkyard in a 80 or so 4x4 chev truck fits it? I think it was a cheyenne model. Also, the donor truck's column is w/o tilt. I destroyed much of the upper column around the ignition while removing my old one. The original issue was a stuck ignition switch that wouldn't turn off, and the fact that the whole column spun as you turned the steering wheel. So, I don't have the total length of column wheel to intermediate shaft, but I do have upper shaft assembly of the old one still. Question #2, can I go off that shaft assm length for matching them? Re: Junkyard steering column
measure uo to the collar that you have left and the same place on replacement Distance from there up is same on all gm columns Check junk yard interchange book to see what fits Columns will bolt in but if they have wiperswitch in column some are different
