pro touring
do yall think it would be possible to make a pro touring ( new car qualities in older car, STOPPING, HANDELING, SPEED, EFFICIENTY, COMFORT ) out of a 69 c10 long fleet? i have never seen it done and would love to try it but dont want to do it unless i can get .97+ on the skid pad. what do yall think about it see it pro touring styled with elect. windows, over drive maby a 5 or 6 speed, about 450-500 HP and 475-525 LBFT, a/c, p/s , p/b, and about 345 back tires? is this somting that would be appreciated? or frownd appon, if i dont go pro touring i am going to go with air bags and 20's so yall tell me if it is possible to go pro touring with the truck, and if u would like to see it?

Sounds like what I've been trying to build. It won't be possible to turn .97's on a skid with a truck. Weight balance just isn't there. However you can make a good handling truck. I have a 95 S-10 SS thats a blast to drive. I wouldn't put a 345 tire on it either. bout 295-305 is all these trucks. Plus wet weather gets extremely hazardous when you put those tires on and if you put the power in your talking about it gets insane. I've heard of 6 speeds put in these trucks, but I think an auto would be better. I'd be glad to exchange ideas with you. If you wanna know more about my truck, you can visit my website, some pages might not work though, I haven't had any time at all to update it.

I think you could make it pro-touring, but .97 is going to be pretty tough. You can definatly improve the handling, as well as power and all the other goodies that come along with pro touring. Check out www.pro-touring.com good info.
When I finish my truck, my next project is going to be a P/T 68 Camaro. I'm thinking 382 (stroked) LS1 with a supercharger backed with a 6 speed . Ought to be around 600 RWHP. Of course this will take MANY years to do. I need about $2500 more to finish my truck. |

sounds kick ass. As far as it being a waste, if you are going to drive it then it is not a waste, to each his own. Run the widest tire you possibly can, it will look *****'n if nothing else. Good luck. Post pics as you go.
