Re: What would you pay for this?

I would pay about 1K for it, considering the condition they explain it as. I can see someone paying more for it, maybe $2500, but not $4000.

I wish they were worth more. It would make mine worth more.

Re: What would you pay for this?

For me 1500 would be tops. It looks fine but there's only the one picture and his description. If everything is as he said, $1500. If not, 1000. If he fixed it first, $500 bux

Thanks for the tips. Wish I could find something with OG paint. I guess i'll check this out and scrutinize the interior and make my decision. Unless you have a patina'd truck up your sleeve that you would like to sell me??

Based on what I've seen around here... I'd have to agree with the $1500 tops crowd.

I'm not a SB lover so I would not pay more than $800 for it & would try to flip it for $13-$1500.

Is it my imagination, or does it have a bbw? Can't really tell... If yes, $2500 maybe - if no, I agree, about $1500.

Re: What would you pay for this?

Actually, that is a BBW. It comes all the way down to the top of the seat. I wouldn't say that gives it an extra $1K.

Any fleetside, short bed with big back window that runs is worth $2500!

Re: What would you pay for this?

Thanks guys for all your input. I thought, by looking at the picture, that it had a bbw as well but I contacted him and he said it was a small. Perhaps he doesn't know what I meant. I asked if he had any more pictures and he said.... NO. Hmmm...

Re: What would you pay for this?

Unless the person is well versed in these old trucks, you can always find rust issues which can help with negotiations. I'll guarantee right now that the lower rear fenders are rusted through, which means the fender support brackets are likely the same condition. Since that's the case, the rockers will likely be rusted through, or filled with body filler when they should have been repaired. The same with the lower door. I would also check the cab corners, cab supports and floor from underneath.

The cab corners and cab supports are not always bad, but those other things are almost always bad, even in dry areas, and if they aren't, they were probably repaired, and they are very often not repaired correctly. All things to negotiate with if you can point them out.

You already know about the transmission, but bring that into it, the overall paint, and the rotted out bed, which is likely to be there also.

I would start with an offer of $800-$1000 and see where negotiations go from there. I certainly wouldn't give over $2k for it, and I'd be more in the range of $1500, but I would still hope for $1K.

Thank you for the info. Over the past year I have spent days researching and collecting information on these trucks but I have never owned a 60-66 so this really helps, appreciate it.

I'm not totally convinced by the pic that it's a big back window.

Yeah, he said it was a small. I'm torn on whether on not to go look at it. From talking to him it seems as though he is pretty firm on the price. I may hold out for something with OG paint.

thats really a big back window, notice how the bottom of the glass is right at the top of the back of the seat!! i would still say 1500 tops, and would depend on the interior
