proportioning valve

have a 48 gmc 1/2 ton, master cylinder has 1 outlet, should i put a valve in there, and where to get it...

You would be much better off converting to a more modern dual reservoir master cylinder. If you still need to cut back on some of the rear brakes so stop lock-up problems, there are adjustable proportioning valves to do that.

if you have stock brake system in your truck it has functioned pretty darn good for goin on 65years why the heck change it ??? maybe u need to do a real good 4wheel brake job by the book (GMservice manual)to get them to work the way they were designed to work

A dual bowl is a lot more safer then a single bowl is the main reason to change it.With a single bowl when you lose brakes you lose them all which isn't pretty.
