gas tanks
What are you guys using for under bed tanks? I have a poky blazer tank now and is letting water in somewhere. I have had this thing off several times. This is in a 70 Chevy fleetside thanks in advance.

Re: gas tanks
Seen a post where some folks are using a 69 camaro tank. Do a search for it. The Blazer tanks hang a bit too low for my taste. You could put a custom tank in but its $500+

Re: gas tanks
We have had a lot of customers go with the Boyd Welding tank, which is a direct fit into the 67-72's. Comes in both carb and EFI applications with a side or bed fill option.

Re: gas tanks
Boyd's are the way to go. They start at only $349. Pretty reasonable once you compare to a blazer tank conversion kit for $250, hack up the bed cross sill, get pissed off, cuss at said "bolt in tank" which does not really just bolt in.
I paid a lot more for mine with the Efi stealth model, aeromotive Efi in tank pump, sending unit and roll over valve. Over $600 I think. Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device

Re: gas tanks
This pic is from a while ago but shows my blazer tank without a bumper. By the time I get a bumper on there you'll need to lay on the ground to see my tank...well almost. I have around $50 into the tank swap.

Re: gas tanks
I installed a 1985 44 gal suburban tank under the bead of my 71 4x4 LB,,used the Cross members/skid plate and parts from the susburban and managed to get the filler pipe between the bed walls without choping things up,,very pleased with the way it turned out and it tucks up nice between the frame rails and looks factory,,cost me maybe $50 for misc parts and just some time and thought!

Re: gas tanks
They are for a 55 Chevy BBC that came from Speedway Motors. They do need to be cut and rewelded to fit. I still have more work to do on mine.
