S10 spindles on a 62 chevy? Will it work?

This question is for a friend of mine who just bought a 62 Chevy long bed. The truck has a 261 and a 3 on the tree. He wants disc's without breaking the bank and he already has the S10 stuff. He was wondering if S10 spindles would work on the front to get disc brakes. I didn't know if anyone else had heard of this or has done this. He doesn't care that it has the 4 and 3/4 bolt pattern. I can't help him as far as knowledge on the subject goes so I thought I would give it to the 60-66 guys to answer. Thanks in advance.
