How to polish stock steering wheel??
How/what do you use to polish a stock 72 black steering wheel? It's in good shape with no major cracks and I don't want to repaint it.

Re: How to polish stock steering wheel??
It's probably not too rough, but if it doesn't give the results you want you just move on to a finer polish. It can't hurt. The more coarse compound will make quicker work of the worse areas. I use that Nevrdull for final polish. It's cloth with polish in it and comes in a dark blue tin can

Re: How to polish stock steering wheel??
I used a high speed polisher that I use to buff my paint with the same 3 step polishing compounds I used on my truck. 3M foam pad 3M compounds

Re: How to polish stock steering wheel??
I would use a product such as the 3M Finnesse-it polish and if nothing else a good rag and hand rub it. The high speed may work, but since you are a novice it could burn the plastic and cause a distortion. I have two different polishers that I use. I have a Makita buffer that is variable speed and I also have a porter-cable buffer. They both have the adapter from 3M on them and can take numerous pads, form a wool bonnet to a soft foam pad.
