Black interior

what are the draw back of painting my entire interior black?

It gets hotter in the sunlight than any other color but Im not going too let it stop me from painting my interior black

it'll show dirt pretty bad but that's not major as far as being a reason to not do it

Its hot and shows dirt more but i like mine black. I have thought of painting just the dash white to match my door panels but other then that its all black.

What everybody else said, it shows dirt and can seem hotter in summer than a cooler color. Since mine is flat black on the outside I don’t think a lighter colored interior would really make any difference. Regardless, the cosmetic appearance of an all black interior has always been worth it to me:

Someone told me that a gloss black dash would reflect too much sun making it difficult to see. I have to agree with markeb01 that the pros outweigh the cons, I like it. I will find out this summer about the glare and everything else and deal with it.

Honestly the only problem I've ever had with glare was when I mounted a chrome gauge cup on top of the steering column. I literally had to put a black sock over the cup because I couldn't see out the windshield the reflection was so bad. It killed my interest in getting a chrome steering column. It was particularly bad near the noon hour on bright days. But I don't remember the highly reflective black lacquer dash ever having been a problem. Perhaps I'm just so used to it I don't notice any problems.

Hey markeb01 Good to here I shouldn't have any probs with the glare, its probably an urban myth. Do you have window tint in your truck? I was going to put some on if it was an issue.

All of my glass is clear except the windshield which I was told has a mild green tint (it looks clear to me). I was thinking back several years ago when the truck was gloss black lacquer and the hood used to be blinding in the afternoon sun when driving home into the setting sun. I carried a black hand towel and just tossed it up on the dash to block the glare until I changed direction. I haven't needed to do that since the truck was repainted in satin/flat.
