About to join the Lowered
I'm going to do a 2.5in drop up front and a 2in in the rear. I know I have 1in thick rotors and 2.5in wide leafs. When measuring the rear leafs I noticed that their is not but about a inch of clearance from the top of the old rear shackle to a support on the bottom of the bed. How can I fit a taller rear shackle up there or do I have to cut out that support? The spindles seem self explanatory although they are the most involved job it seems. The clearance issue in the rear is what bothers me. Anyone have any pictures of aftermarket shackles on the rear? My truck is a 82 SWB 2wd truck. Thanks.

Re: About to join the Lowerd
Depending on how low you want to go, why not flip the rear-end? Its about the same price but will drop it 6-7 inches. Also when you change spindles I would replace those ball joints, while your in there. Either way keep us updated with some before and after pics. Good luck.

Re: About to join the Lowerd
I don't want to go that low. On a good note the previous owner already did the ball joints so I'm good there. I'm going with the western chassis set up. I can pick it up from summit on Monday. My office is only 10 miles away. I'm just worried about what is up with that brace but if many of you have done it then I guess it works.

You will have to notch the bed brace to run drop shackles on your truck.
