Correct. 700R4.

See page 6:

http://www.gmheritagecenter.com/docs...let-Blazer.pdf

MXO = automatic overdrive.

MD8 = 700R4

Re: What transmission does a 91 blazer have

It's a 700. If it's original, it'll be one of the better ones.
Enjoying our weather? 2 days ago it was 70, woke up this morning to 4" of snow.

Posted via Mobile DeviceIm actually enjoying it. Already got the hubs locked in on the blazer so I don't have to do it in the cold. May hit the remote start later and go play lol.

Re: What transmission does a 91 blazer have

Actually if it's the original trans it should be badged as a 4L60 not 700R4 although they are one and the same. The ID is on the pass side

I thought I remembered the actual designation changed to 4L60 in 1993. I understand they are the same trans. GM just decided to rename them.

Renamed to 4L60 in 1991. The 4L60e came in in 1992-93. His has a 4l60 if it is a 91 model. Which is the same as a 700r4 but no the same as a 4l60e.
