Question 3 port fuel pump

i needed a new fuel pump and was givin a new in the box never used 3 port pump. however my fuel tank which sits behind the seats in the cab only has one line leaving the sender and never had a return line from the factory.can i get away w/ just plugging the return port? (66 w/ a 283 4 bbl)

You can get away with it, but where a new fuel pump is less than $20, why worry about it?

Yes, a new fuel pump (with only an inlet and outlet) for a '66 with a small block motor is $16.99 at autozone. I imagine any parts store would have them for a similar price.
