Replacement oil gauge line

Guys,
Need to replace my oil line for the gauge in my 55. Got a replacement line kit (universal) from parts store....but it has little cone shaped fittings for the end and the one I took off has more rounded fittings...will it work, and if so which way does the small end of the cone go...?

Re: Replacement oil gauge line

Once you tighten the fitting the brass ferral will become more rounded
