I NEED HELP (with power steering)
OK my 72 did not have it, so i put it in, I am hooking up the lines, my question is on the High Press Line.
how dows it hook up, with O rings, with out O rings, teflon tape, no tape, plain and simple or am i shooting to much in to this????????? I am asking due to the fact i had 2 pump units, and both leaked , I just got my 3rd and well shop is starting to blame me. Please help, diagrams, pics of assembly, install help any Thanks At my wits end!!!!!!!!!

If it is a factory setup, then the fittings are flare fittings and no "O" rings, tape or anything is needed. I would check the fitting on the back of the pump for leaks. It has an "O" ring in it.
Also, check the fittings on the high pressure line for damage. Jim |

Thanks I will try that, I think i put o rings on it, cause the plugs came with them on the pump.

Hello, Those pumps came in 2 configurations, with o ring and with flare. if you have flare fittings and the pump you have is o ring you can change the fitting in the rear of the pump to the one you need. it depends on the gear box you have. i have a 2 wd pump and res from a 72 and the 4 wd gear box from a 80, the gear box came with o ring and my pump has flare, so i had to chage the fitting in the back of the pump. the backs are flare fittings, I installed it today, and i put a pan down to see if it leaks (I thanks you both for the help.) I hope it works, Ill let ya know Thanks again!
