53 rearend width
I know its in here somewhere but i can't find it. What is the width of the original rearend of a 53 1/2 ton. Also has anybody used a '93 chevy truck rearend?

Re: 53 rearend width
Should be 62....the 90s are too wide. A 67 68 or 69 is 6 lug and 62 1/2 and uses a 1310 joint. You have to make a catch or bracket for the cable ends and cut the old perches off and weld on new ones with a 3 degree pinion angle, but other than that its the best choice if you are staying 6 lug.

Re: 53 rearend width
Maybe I'm reading wrong, It is late but isn't that a 10 1/2 inch difference?

Re: 53 rearend width
My neighbor's wife is a 53 and I'd guess she's about 3/4 of an axe handle across.
