modifying edelbrock air gap manifold

I saw a video some time ago from carjunkietv.com were they dyno test edelbrocks manifolds and they show the rpm with a mod were they cut the interior plenum wall and the thing pulls numbers similar to the air gap.. wondering if that legit.

i saw the same thing. i think that they said putting a carb spacer did the same thing, which you would figure it would.

Yep. It'll still act like a dual-plane in the low rpm, but will still allow it to pull air from all 4 barrels in the upper rpm. 1" spacer is the ticket in this case.
