New to this site and need help
Hi all, I'm new to this site and have always liked the looks of the 69 truck. I have a bench seat which needs reupholstering and the wife will do it if I'm able to find a good pattern. If anyone knows where I might be able to purchase one, I'd sure appreciate the help.

if you are wanting to diy you can use your seat for a pattern by cuting it appart and laying it out (if it is not in too bad of shape) and welcome to the site too!

The problem is that there isn't enough of the upholstery to get a good pattern. I'm hoping someone will.

Welcome.
Are you wanting to stich it together yourself with patterns? Or buy a new kit and just slide it over your cushions? If your looking for a kit to slide over. Sites mentioned, plus there atleast 2 members that sell upholstery/foam on here that I am forgetting names. :edit: pickmup and truckseats are the user names. |

Unless your wife is a real whiz at sewing/upholstery you're probably better off buying a seat cover. My wife makes drapes and does upholstery and by the time we figured in materials, time etc., it was cheaper to buy one.
Now, having said that, my truck is a Highlander, so I think we're going to buy a seatcover and Mary is going to change out the inside panels with the Highlander plaid from SMS.

Thanks guys. The wife reupholstered my 55 chevy buckets with awsome results. The grandson wants it upholstered in camo so she insists on doing it. She has an industrial sewing machine so i guess she's somewhat qualified. Still looking for a pattern.

Make your own pattern.
Lay a cheap clear shower curtain over the seat. Trace around the edges with a sharpie marker and add half an inch beyond that mark for seam allowance. That's a trick the great Sid Shavers taught my wife when she was just beginning upholstery work. Posted via Mobile Device |
