57 frame

I have a 1959 GMC longbed. Is a 1957 Chevy longbed the same?? I was looking for a frame to build so I can still drive my truck while building the frame. I have a lead on a 57 longbed chevy.

a lot depends on what your going do to the frame.
same basic frame if it's a 3200 or 3600 frame, the 3800 frame has no rear axle c-notch.
if your going to lower it and add your own c-notch then it's not a problem.
59 has a little longer front frame horns and a gmc has a different radiator support
i'd go for it. all the mounts are right

I am really wanting to go with the Porterbuilt front and rear bag set up. The body mounts and wheelbase are the same though? Its just the radiator support thats the biggie??

I'm doing the same thing. I have a '57 GMC LB that I'm building a new chassis for.
I'm using a Chevy chassis.
The rad core support will be from a Chevy to match the Chevy Chassis mounts. This will mean modifying the grill support and hood latch.
The GMC chassis has a forward crossmember for the center mount rad support.
The GMC trans crossmember is a bolt in piece.

You could move the GMC forward crossmember to the Chevy chassis when you make the swap saving modifying the grill support.
