Times Have Changed

I was looking through some pictures on my computer and came across a picture of my Dad's blazers back in the day. This is the the early 80's. Just kind of interesting to see how style have changed over the years. Still not even bad looking for todays standards.... minus the gold wheels maybe. lol

I wish he still had that red 2wd!... or both for that matter.
Anyways, just thought I would share.

- Travis

The red one would have looked better with the lower molding too... or is that a painted stripe? Can't tell but that could surely be a nice specimen.

Re: Times Have Changed

Agree - they both look great, even by today's standards.

What's really awful is to see the psycodelic/van offerings of the late 70's/early 80's. I sold a bunch of old Hot Rod/Car Craft magazines on ebay a few years ago and had to bleach my eyes after looking though those old mags...

Don't even get me started on the clothes.

Re: Times Have Changed

Both still look awesome. My truck is a little old school also, sometimes i wish i had not have gotten such a good deal on my rims as I would rather have 20's, but at the same time my truck doesn't look the same as every other one at cruise night. I still get plenty of compliments on it.

Oh those wheels take me back to 1987 when I was a young high school punk selling a set of those a week working part time at the local Giant Auto Parts store. Anybody remember those?

Re: Times Have Changed

I am barely old enough to remember those things, but it still doesn't keep me from living in the past.

If God ever answers my prayers I will be deported back to the early 60's.

Re: Times Have Changed

Those are definitely some crazy cars on the covers on those magazines! My dad did the van craze thing also like you mentioned. Wheels out in the back, van name painted on the side....

It is kind of cool of cool to look through those older magazines and check out the styles from before.

Those wheels are much the same as my first set of chrome rims, except my centers were not gold.Got them around '85. Run them on my 78C10. Had a set of cragar ss 15x8.& 15x10 too.bought new in 86! I am old school, still prefer those 15" rims to the bling 18-22s. Did the same with my trucks too, jacked rear end up & 295/50s on 10" rims so they stuck out more!!

Re: Times Have Changed

I used to rock the 15x8and15x10 chrome modular wheels. killed many sets of tires on those wheels. I remember the gold center wheels. We called them nuggets. The ones I Never really cared for were the ones with red, blue, or black centers.
I'm not old either. I'm just a 42 year old kid.
