Colors are suited for the owner. I look at your name and could only see the burnt orange color.
check out the new camaro orange/copper coloring. |

Re: Trying to pick a color for my 69 truck
do you want stock colors? (just say yes!) here you go:
How about some info on your truck, or even some pics? I personally love the saddle metallic trucks, however, for a 69, maroon metallic is a one-year-only color and, therefore, very different while still being a stock color. I'm a medium olive freak, so I always think nobody can go wrong with 504 med olive metallic.... |

Re: Trying to pick a color for my 69 truck
You would do a lot better looking about and narrowing it down some instead of a free for all picture thread.
Do you have colors you like? Are there colors that you won't do? Thinking just factory colors or 69 specifc colors and schemes only?

Here's a Red/White Combo. Standard two-tone type, but timeless.
Good luck on your build.

Re: Trying to pick a color for my 69 truck
Oh my - turq met trucks are Soooooo nice - if you're going to the trouble of a resto, why not stay original? I like red too, but sometimes I even value booger juice green (i.e. med olive ) over anything, if it was original.

Re: Trying to pick a color for my 69 truck
He's from Rockmart. Gotta go with "Redneck Red". LOL
All serious....color is definitely a personal preference. I have red and black (UGA colors) but for personal reasons. My favorite colors are dark blue and white two-tone. |

Saddle metallic would be my choice.

My '69 GMC is (was) Turq metallic with a white roof before the PO repainted it white. However he left the interior original. When this truck gets restored, its going back original.

Re: Trying to pick a color for my 69 truck
Colors, and color combinations, are a funny thing! Everyone seems to have their own concrete idea(s) as to what constitutes a "good color" for these trucks. Personally, I like just about all colors...but, I won't paint a truck red. 96blazr, however, has a beautiful standard two-tone red and white truck and I love the looks of it.
First thing, as jocko said, do you want a "stock" color or are you open to other choices? There are a lot of considerations when choosing a color and the stock-versus-other decision would be a place to start. I'm not hung up on stock colors (for some projects) so the '72 (with '67 front clip) C-30 I'm currently putting together is probably going to end up being gold/black, copper/black, or charcoal/black. Decisions, decisions, decisions!!

Re: Trying to pick a color for my 69 truck
The way I see it. If you aren't going to match the original color of the vehicle then select a color from that era of vehicles, which opens the door pretty wide. Then it's a matter of personal preference. For example, I've been looking at the vast number of colors from Chevrolet cars and trucks from say 1960-1970. There's several I like but one in particular is called Corona Cream. Trying to imagine this color on a truck. In a hot climate like AZ,TX, NM or CA this will work and is gentle on the eyes.

Re: Trying to pick a color for my 69 truck
I looooove this Wheatland yellow on mine, but it's only available as a fleet color on newer trucks. Luckily I was able to get a lightly used town truck from Colorado (although the seller SWORE that it was a regular truck that someone ordered special with that paint, the fact that I could see where the vinyl lettering on door used to be said otherwise.)
