Electric fan experts help. 91 K5 blazer

Ok so I need something under the hood that I can tie into that only hot when the key is on. It is for my 210 fan relay if that matters. Also it's got a green wire that says its for the ac clutch. Where do I tie that into.

First of all, the green wire goes to the power wire for the A/C compressor. It will splice in and when you turn on your compressor the power will feed to the fan relay and start your electric fan. As for turning your fans off when the key is off, all you have to do is find a circuit that is controlled through the fuse panel that is on with the key and off when it is off. Many fuse blocks have ignition terminals in them that you can tap off of. If not, then a circuit for your radio or such can be used as a source. This circuit does not have to be wired to the fan or fans, they should get power directly from your battery, this power should go to a realy that turns the fans on, so there is no overload on the ignition circuit or fuse block. Remember before passing through the firewall to the engine compartment, put a fuse in the circuit to protect the truck, if the wire were to get a bare spot in it.

As long as your are using a relay...use the ign wire for the wiper. That's how I did mine. That way you only have to run wires in the engine compartment.

For my fan on my trans cooler, I just wired my relay up to a switch on the dash from the second battery. I usually leave it on. It shuts itself off when it's cool enough.
