Re: lowering rear 66
Don't forget to C-notch the frame. Gotta do it if you lower the rear 4" or more. Most places sell a kit for about $120.

Re: lowering rear 66
ya but how much travel do you have ? when i dropped mine 5 inch with no notch there wasnt much left and the reason i did a basic frame notch.....then that led to bags

Re: lowering rear 66
Does anybody make a bag that would go inside the rear coils? You could just fill them up when you needed to haul. A company use to make them (may still) for f-bodies to help with launching. Don't know how effective they were for that, but seems like they would help us here lol.

Re: lowering rear 66
I know some guys are flipping the trailing arm brackets and running bags in the stock coil location. Thats what i was going to do but after i step notched it the TAs rested on the frame, gotta go with 4 link now... one thing leads to another, lower then lower then lower you know!

Re: lowering rear 66
air bags are the way to go..... here is a link to my gallery
http://kieth.smugmug.com/Trucks/66-G...rzRrs&lb=1&s=A look through it for more details on the air ride install... here is a picture: we later added a 1.5" alum lowering block between the trailing arm and the rear axle, and removed the bottom cage shown in the above picture. here is a link which shows the later modifications. http://kieth.smugmug.com/Trucks/66-G...3351&k=9b7PbpP |
