Master Cylinder
I have a 1966 C-10 with disc brakes all the way around. I am trying to decide which master cylinder to run. The truck is a 3 speed.
Do you recommend power brakes, or manual? Where should I buy the master cylinder from? Part number? I was leaning towards manual brakes, but now I am thinking about this one: http://www.autocityclassic.com/index...mart&Itemid=66 Recommendations? Thank you. Tom Jenkins |

Re: Master Cylinder
I went w/manual disc on mine, got the master from obsolete chevy. Easy people to order from and parts arrive quickly and correct.

Re: Master Cylinder
If you go with manual you still need proportioning valve due to weight differential from front to rear. Picture of vette loow profile disc/disc, with booster and proportioning valve.

Re: Master Cylinder
I would definitely recommend going with power brakes. I would also suggest going a big a diameter booster as you can. Those tiny 8" boosters typically don't add much power assist to your braking. I agree on the Corvette master cylinder. Depending on the booster you get, you will likely want one for a '77-'82 Vette. You will also need either a disc/disc specific fixed proportioning valve, or an adjustable prop valve in the rear circuit. The Wilwood 260-11179 is a nice all in one unit. If you need a bolt on (no holes to drill) booster bracket, let me know.
