any one install a 72 body on a 80 frame
i have a 72 1/2 ton 4spd 2wd. i have been looking for a 4wd frame for a couple of years and all i find is overpriced junk. i did find a 1980 4wd with 4spd that the body is junk on. my question is has anyone tried to install an old body on a newer truck? how much work was it to modfiy the frame to make it work?
thanks eric everingham |

Re: any one install a 72 body on a 80 frame
My buddy did it. He had to shorten the frame and fab body mounts. I am also doing a 4x4 conversion, but using my stock 68 frame and just adding the 4x4 parts from a 73-87 donor truck. Way less work than a frame swap in my opinion. See my 68 Burb build thread link below for pics.
