Re: just pick up this 65 c10

That's a nice find. It has all the side trim and everything (except a running engine). That's a AT truck and had AC at one time. Cool. It looks like it doesn't have much rust! Way to go!

Re: just pick up this 65 c10

There is a number stamped on the front passenger side of the block just in front of the head and another just behind the drivers side cylinder head.
Those two numbers are the only way to tell for sure what engine that is without taking it apart.

Re: just pick up this 65 c10

It appears to be a 283/327, not a newer engine. There’s a hole in the back of the block wall where the baffle normally bolts to the intake valley, leading to the road draft tube just behind the rear intake manifold rail. It even has the original spark plug wire heat deflectors. Very cool find. Have fun!

The body looks real clean!

Check the casting number on the back of the block where the bellhousing bolts on. From there, measure the bore and you should be able to figure it out.

I would love to find a vintage AC unit like that.

great truck. Love the color and trim. Engines for these are relatively cheap. Good luck with getting her on the road.

Did you find that in the Victor Valley area?

It looks really solid, and it's got some cool options.

Dang you came up on this one. There is a 60-61 near me for $600 but he doesnt have a title. I know I can get one but cost a good amount for replacement. But its out of dmv.

Yes a 350 will bolt right in. All the external mounting features are the same as a 1958 and up Chevy 283/327 engine.
