do i need lowering shocks?
i've heard different opinions....i'm lowering my '68shrtbd w/ 3"frt. coils and 4"rear coils and need to know if i'm gonna need to order any.........anyone?thanks.

yes, very much so if you are only using coils to drop your truck. try this though.
drop your truck and ride around with your current shocks, then order a set of GOOD drop shocks and then you will be like ![]() |

You won't have to get them. At one point, I had 3" coils in the front and 2" drop spindles and was just fine. I went to 2"/2" upfront later on though. I have always had a 4" drop in the back and don't have any problems with standard shocks. I highly recommend that you get the rear shock relocators although they aren't needed either. They just give a slightly better ride.

I have a 2 1/2-3" drop front, & a 4 1/2 -5" drop rear on the springs. I have relocated brackets both front & rear (front brackets are custom made, & the rears are just relocated on the leaf frame). I run stock lenght Monroe gas shocks, & the old truck rides good. Good luck,crazyL

i have edlebrock shocks, man those things are awesome, i used to have Toxic shocks and they were good, but eldlebrock mad a huge diff, also in money,lol $80 each but toxic shocks should be plenty, if u don't want to spend alot of money
