Speedo issue
I am having a speedo issue where the speedo cable is not getting turned from the gear in the transmission and I want to know how much fluid I can expect to come out when I pull the gear housing out of the tailshaft of a 700r4 tranny, thanks in advance!

Re: Speedo issue
Enough to warrant a drain pan. Use a real clean one and pull it off. If you tip the truck forward by raising the rear to get under. The amount that comes out will be minimized

Re: Speedo issue
Thanks for the heads up and jacking up the back end. I have another question. Does the speedo cable connect directly to the speedo gear on the tailshaft? I have what looks like something that changes the direction of the output 90 degrees. I don't know what it's called so I can't find another online. I'll pull it off the truck and post some pics tomorrow.
