NOS Sport Mirrors
I've had these for a long time and none of my stuff will ever be worthy of such nice mirrors so I figure I'd let them go to someone with something a little less .....weathered than my K5. Original boxes and seals. I thought these were absolutely perfect, but upon very close inspection there is one little dimple in the chrome on one, and three little dimples in the other one (I pictured them....I'm pretty sure this would be mounted towards the ground). There is also a factory defect by one of the screw holes shown. The glass is perfect...no scratches whatsoever and date codes are showing. Please feel free to ask questions. $225 shipped CONUS.

Re: NOS Sport Mirrors
just an fyi to those looking at these...I've had over 20 NOS sport mirrors and most have some kind of defect in the chrome. These weren't meant to be show quality parts...just replacement parts for what at the time were mainly farm trucks....we have to keep that in mind....

Re: NOS Sport Mirrors
Do thay come with the metal backing plates and wil the factory defect by one of the screw holes affect the mounting of the mirror or is it just cosmetic.

The defect will not affect functionality. It is the little "smudge" shown in the third pic down. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: NOS Sport Mirrors
I am going to need to find the metal backing plates and I do not know how hard that will be or how much it will cost for them so the best I can do on the mirrors is 185.00 anyway let me know and thank you Reed.

If you're going to put them to good use that's better than having them sitting in my shop doing nothing....I'm fine with that. I'll send you a PM. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: NOS Sport Mirrors
you can get reproductions on the metal plates. Unless you're doing a concours restoration there's no need to purchase the backing plates NOS...the gaskets are better NOS than repops but not the backing plates...plus...who would ever know even if it were a concours restoration??? it's inside the door

Aftermarket backing plates will work fine. However, if you can find some original era plates in nice condition, the screw hole part of the backing plate has a tach-welded nut, wheras the aftermarket is just a hole that accepts the metal screw. But I'm not one to talk if you just want to be fanatical and get NOS plates just because "you'll know." BTW, great set of mirrors and gasket at a great price! -Richard
