Salvage yard find - 63

I stopped in at my pick-a-part today and low and behold, they had a 'new' 63 for me to tear apart. It has a couple things I needed, like a speedo, and a lighter (knob)... but it also has a set of gun racks, the wiring and bracket for an AM radio (someone else already got that), and a deuluxe wheel/horn button. SCORE!

It also has the thin windshield trim I may try and get for one of you (My 60 has the fat trim). What's the easiest and safest (so I don't bend it) way to get the trim out of the seal?

There 's also a 64-66 (didn't look close for a SN) LB SS with pretty nice rear fenders and steps. Tail light assys look pretty good too.

Re: Salvage yard find - 63

you have to remove the windshield to access the trim. it is installed in the gasket and installed at the same time the glass is set. once you have the winshield off, remove the 4 revel clips, then remove the trim. it will come out in 4 pieces, 2 upper/2lower

If the windshield trim is cheap, I'd be interested. I'm looking for a set, or even one piece, for a project.

UGLY! lol I want to say the 63 was originally blue, but it's paintbrush red now. Stepside was resprayed at some point ugly pea green....

I thought the Long Step bed was in great shape until I got around to the driver's side and looked. The front driver's side of the truck must have been low and out in the weather for a LONG time... the bed in front of the step is really rusted out bad. Fenders and steps are nice though.

I'll see if I can get it out carefully Brad. They are closed until Tuesday now, and I won't be able to get back until next Saturday.
