For the decoding masters!!
I have a 454 with C6117775 as a serial number.. block is a 3619595 which is common and the intake is common also.. what gets me is the exhaust ## come back as a police issue #?
353030 and 3994045 so it has me wondering if it was a police engine. Any help would be appreciated, I just never have any luck with the codes on the front of the block. built 1-26-75 numbers on front machine pad are C6117775 Thanks

Re: For the decoding masters!!
That number is a partial VIN from the car it came out of. Other than the fact it probably means a Southgate, CA assembly plant there is not much to add.
Is the 1-26-75 derived from the engine assembly code you did not provide or is it the casting date of your 3619595 block? Without the suffix letters of the engine assembly code everything is a guess. But to base it on exhaust manifold numbers is a stretch. Maybe if the head numbers and the intake all date coded to the block also came back as a possible police application, then you might be able to make more of an informed guess without a block engine assembly code.
