Greetings...meet Ole Green
Howdy from right near the center of NC.
I have a 1972 C-10 Cheyene that I got when I was 16 from my grandfather who bought it new. I had it semi restored 11 years ago, a drunk did the body work and paint and I did the mechanical work. At that time I replaced the 3 on the tree with a 700r4 from Bowtie Overdrives and rebuilt the original 350 for the second time. I am now in the process of rebuilding the original motor for the 3rd time...I let it sit too long and a cam lobe let go about 2 months ago sending metal through out the motor (low zinc oil? who knows). So I am thinking about lowering it a little, and putting A/C on her one of these days as well as getting the peeling clear coat and surface rust fixed, both the result of letting a wino paint my truck. Anyways, here is a photo from a few years back and one of my motor on the way to the machine shop. |

That is really nice. Has it been lowered? Original color? What size tires on there?

WELCOME!!!! Looks like a nice truck needing some care.
Just a heads up,there is a meet and greet for board members in Mooresville this sat. It's at the Mooresville Motorplex. It's a great way to get to meet other members and to check out their trucks for mods and things you would like to do to yours. Here's a link. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...C10+meet+greet BTW I'm right over in Greensboro.

Re: Greetings...meet Ole Green
Thanks for the welcomes.
Its not lowered yet...just worn out springs i guess. Current tires are 225/70/15...I think, I put them on in 1993....thinking about putting back 255/70/15 or maybe 60's. That is as close as the guy couls come to original color, Light Olive Metallic. If I get her back together this week I will try to make it to Mooresville, my grandfather was from China Grove right down the road. Posted via Mobile Device |

slow,no need to have your truck. There's quite a few who will be in their DD's due to trucks still in build stages.

Welcome! This site rocks, as you'll soon find out. Tons of folks that know lots of stuff that are willing to help out those of us that don't.
Nice clean looking truck you have there. Looks like a great starting point. Be careful on the old tires, though.

Re: Greetings...meet Ole Green
That was the only way my uncle could paint is after a 12 pack and he painted some award winning cars in the World of Wheels shows in the late 60's early 70's.
