Interior Mirrow Question
Anyone ever hear of a 72 with the inside rearview bolted to the cab like a 71 model ? I saw one that the owner said was an early 72, but had never heard of it before. Thanks!

I dunno, but my 72 was built in Aug 71, so it's fairly early, and the mirror base is glued to the windshield.

Do the doors have the dimples and the '72 style panels?

Is the spot where the mirror attached a raised funny shaped area? Could have been a PO got sick of the mirror falling off and just screwed one on to the cab.

I agree, a PO probably bolted one on after the heat made the stock glue on one fall off.
Every 71 I have ever seen had this raised pad for the mirror. |

I just don't get that whole thing. Like for 4 years GM mounted it to the cab then in 71 they make that weird shaped deal? Whats up with that? Why go to the trouble and expense to change the metal? Then a year later they put it on the windsheild.
