Chrome strip
Anyone know where to get the chrome strip that goes on the bottom of the door panel on the lower carpet panel?

Re: Chrome strip
That is part of the carpet on OEM door lowers. I couldn't fine any aftermarket company that sold that part either. I got lucky and found a set of NOS GM carpet lowers on Ebay.

Re: Chrome strip
Ok I will give that a try. I thought about leaving it off, but it just adds that extra touch so I want it on. My old ones are in bad shape.

Re: Chrome strip
I'm thinking they are stainless not chrome.
Being stainless it is very easy to bring them back to like new condition. I did my grille trim which was junkyard garbage by wet sanding and then polishing with plain old Mothers. I started with 600 then 1000 and finally 2000 wet sandpaper before hand polishing with the mothers. They are easy to remove from the carpet panel.

Re: Chrome strip
so you just sanded with 600, 1000 and 2000 and hand polish with mothers?

Re: Chrome strip
Thats what I did on the 4 piece stainless trim that goes around the grille on my 85.
It was scratched and dull. No shine at all. Only took a couple hours and looks like brand new. You will be suprised how easy it is and how good it works. Just wetsand(little dish soap in the water helps) and polish. Post your results. Posted via Mobile Device
