My new patina 65 shortbed
Here is my new 65 I bought last week. I bought it off the original owner, 72 year old man right off the Texas cattle ranch. All original truck with the original paperwork less the window sticker. Kinda ran bad when it arrived but a fresh tune and the 230 6cyl runs like a champ. Still got good Texas insp sticker, lol. Soon as I finish up a few other projects I plan to get cracking on it and start my first build thread, but plan on driving just the way it is till then. He is a few pics thought you guys might enjoy.

Re: My new patina 65 shortbed
Killer truck. Love the pit juice wear on the drivers door. Completely legit. I'd put the right caps back on it though.

Re: My new patina 65 shortbed
Very cool find. I like that you are going to drive it the way it is for a while. It is fun to drive and gives you an idea of what those trucks were like with original equipment, shifting gears and driving without power steering and all the comforts we get used to in newer vehicles. Nice to start with one that is fairly straight and unmolested.

Re: My new patina 65 shortbed
Thanks guys. I've had a few stock ones already. I prefer v8 auto with all the goodies, but it drives pretty nice as is. I hope to have it a while (I don't know about years) lol the way i go through them. But your right it is a hard find, to find them not all dented up & rotted. I got to get it off the lot I get about 5 people a day trying to buy it. I do plan on leaving the factory 6cyl, stick in it.

Re: My new patina 65 shortbed
Great truck. Have fun with her. I miss my old 3 speed. My auto is fun but I worry about theft. Never have to worry about a dumb kid knowing how to drive a three-on-the-tree.

Re: My new patina 65 shortbed
I wish I would have left mine like that also. If I had to do it again I would still fix the rust, new bed fix interior, smoothie wheels and paint the grill/bumpers. Again good score!
