Hello all! I have decided to take the tank out of the cab on my '54 and I was wondering if anyone had some ideas on the best "factory" tank set up I could go with. I thought maybe a later model Chevy tank would work that used the manual fuel pump would work good. I figured someone else has done this and I was hoping to learn from them. Thoughts?

The best matchup I have seen is a 47-48 tank under the bed. I did see a tank from a 76 chevy truck under the bed of one once but I have to say he had to modify most of the tank for it to fit around the axle. Like I said the one out of the 47-48 fits best and it's also used in the panel trucks. Also look a few of the car tanks from the 60s. They work well. You can actualy get all the modern stuff in the late 80s tanks but it's up to you. Mounting latter tank requires a lot of knowledge in fabrication but you can get some cool results.

The 69 or 70 Mustang tanks fit real nice and they are VERY reasonable, change the sender and you are finished
