AD interior windshield trim
Talked to a guy at the local Rod shop yesterday, he says nobody remakes the AD interior windshield trim. Is this true? Is there no company out there reproducing this piece? My searches haven't turned up anything, but maybe I'm not using the right vocabulary.......?

Re: AD interior windshield trim
Well, looks like the search is on for a usable original then! I don't mind the look of it with no trim, but I fear my defrost vents might dry my contacts out before the windshield clears up!

Re: AD interior windshield trim
I might be a little crazy, but why not use some old (or new if you'd rather) vents? Cut them about an inch down from where they mount under the dash and perch them on top aimed towards the windows? Should help fix your dried contacts. And no, I don't have the interior trim either.

Re: AD interior windshield trim
Yeah I got luckey on mine especially. The best rout to go is find an old cab with a decent interior and restore the trim. My interior was all in my truck but I don't have an engine runing or a bed. My cab needs some work to.

Re: AD interior windshield trim
Following the radio delete plate I think the window trim is the second thing that is missing out of most cabs you find sitting around.

Re: AD interior windshield trim
I'm in a similar situation on the cab molding that goes around the door. It's not the floating type like the late 49-55. My mettal striping broke on the drivers side and has rusted out on one portion. I'm thinking about trying to reproduce them myself. In the latter years you could only see rubber on mine you can see a mettal stio that went over the robber.

Re: AD interior windshield trim
That actualy would not be a bad idea. All the windlace channels I have seen are for the 49-55 but I my even be able to find a portion of it off another truck and stick them together. Mine are bent very badly but I can straiten them out.
