1972 Blazer
I just picked up a 1972 blazer yesterday and its going to need a lot of metal work. I was wondering where the best place to get aftermarket reproduction parts if I cant find original stuff. It seems some of the stuff you get now is so thin. I have called a couple places and they claim their stuff is 19guage wich I guess is factory thickness. We are new to the board but have been reading stuff from here for a while. We currently own a 1970 3/4 ton 4x4 with a ls6.0 and this blazer wich we intend to put it back as close to factory as we can

Re: 1972 Blazer
First, Welcome to the board. Be sure to post some pictures of your 72.
For parts, start by contacting one of the board vendors. I've have good experiences with Wes @ Classicheartbeat.com, GMC Pauls and Brothers. There are quiet a few more and probably some in your area. Most of the repop body parts are all coming from a handful of manufacturers. There was around 80,000 Blazer produced from 69-72. Factoring in how many have been restored, modified or met their demise over the years, that leaves a very small market to justify the cost of manufacturing.
