I just got my 73 Blazer and I am already planning out my lift. I already have 6" Superlift springs for the front. I plan to put some OffRoad Design greaseable bushings in them. I plan to use OFD's 4" shackle flip in the read. I had one on my 99 Suburban and liked it. So I will top it off with a 2-3" block in the rear.

So here is my question. The rear springs are 40 years old. I don't want lifted springs as I feel stock ones will give a better ride. Where is a good place to get good OEM springs? I have not measure the spring eyes yet, so I am not sure if the 73 rear springs are the same up to 1991 or later or what.

does the rear already sag? If it isn't too bad, a 6" lift would just be an add a leaf and 4" rear block.

What size tires are you going to run? I usually ran 4" lifts on a Blazer; the one I lifted 6" seemed like it fought the whole way. A long way to go to clear 35's, when the 4" did the same for me and was a ton easier. This is just my opinion, my junk was usually rough enough tire clearance wasn't an issue after the first couple of hard jumps......

No AAL's. I have had them before. The whole idea of them is rough. Lets take ONE leaf that is so freaking stiff that it can raise the entire vehicle up 2", while forcing the other leafs to bend.

Blocks cause axle wrap. The bigger the block the greater the axle wrap.

The shackle flip basically retains the stock ride of the spring. Of course that depends on the condition of the spring. My springs are 40years old. Hard to tell if they have sagged much because the front are 40 years old too.

I will either run 35's or 37's. My 80 had a 4" lift and 35's. I drove that combo for about 6 or 7 years.
