Newbie with 1966 Suburban

Newbie here. I just purchased a 1966 Chevrolet Suburban. Loaded --327 4 bbl. powerglide trans, power steering, brakes, 3 seat option, sliding windows, 4 way flasher. 98K original miles. Even has original jack, handle and lug wrench and instructions under the seat and original upholstery. I owned this 15 years ago, sold it 8 years ago, took me 1 year to find it and buy it back. I will be asking lots of questions.

Re: Newbie with 1966 Suburban

This is just a start. I have lots of larger UNION 76 porcelain signs. Grandpa owned the bulk plant in town and my parents owned a Union 76 station. Always looking for more.

Re: Newbie with 1966 Suburban

Too bad about the hole in the roof from the old siren/strobe. That could potentially leak and cause trouble. My suggestion would be to sell it ASAP and avoid any headaches. Since it does not rain that much down here in L.A., I'd be a perfect person to sell it to. PM me to set that up.
No prob bud, happy to help.

No holes in the roof. I had that light sitting on the top with 3 large magnets so that it went with my fire truck collection in my first life! j

Re: Newbie with 1966 Suburban

I plan to get it back to a dependable driving condition for now so that I can tow my vintage 1959 Shasta trailer. I have a new set of hubcaps and plan to put stock wheels back on it like it was before. Rears widen to 8 inch. I just cleaned up the replacement 350 engine a little. I don't think the original 327 engine has ever been opened up. It has original distributor, alternator, carb, radio ground straps. It is tucked away until I decide exactly what to do.

Re: Newbie with 1966 Suburban

I bought it from a guy named Ron in Langley BC. He was not the original guy that I sold it to. I think the guy that bought it from me was Reagan and worked at a tire store. Have you seen this suburban on the street?

I thought so, Ron is a buddy of mine and I sold him the seats out of my suburban. I am surprised he sold it, he must have other irons in the fire.
