Cargo light
84 cab. Cannot remember how this was secured. I cannot find any bolts, clips or inserts in my pile of parts that make any sense. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Cargo light
I went to LMC's online catalog, page 180, and it shows a drawing of the nuts. The nuts are encased in a rubber gromet and, I think, pushed into the holes in the cab from the inside. I'm trying to remember because I don't have a cargo lamp on my 77 but I pulled one from a junk yard about a year ago.

Re: Cargo light
77 sport is correct from what i can remember... they either push through the holes from the inside or are inserted from the outside and they pinch in the hole when the mount screw is tightened but I think it is the first way. I've tried removing the nuts from old cabs with not much luck, end up ruining rubber so had to buy new from LMC.

Re: Cargo light
The rubber grommets are a pain. I just made my own set up by welding a piece of coat hanger to some 1/4 inch nuts. I just made the hanger wire about 1/2 inch longer then the cab holes and welded them to the nuts. Bend the wire until the nuts/holes line up and it holds and locks the nuts. Can take a bit of lining up but removal is a snap after that!

Re: Cargo light
Thanks for the info. Cant quite wrap my head around the coat hanger thing yet but it sounds promising. Can always go the insert way I suppose.
