Re: tach conversion

1966 ,

Yes Williamson converts the tachs to run without transmitters. I have the '60 305 V-6and have upgraded to Petronix, I too was wondering if I needed a transmitter. I called and email them and they explained that they do the conversion inside of the tach.

Re: tach conversion

Installed the same one in my 65 since the old Stewart Warner outside the original cluster went south. Works great.

Re: tach conversion

a lot of people on this forum said this was not a factory tach, i personally pulled from a c60 truck and all mounting plate's in cluster look factory, but like i said before did not get transmitter and cannot find one as of present time unless this website you give me has one ,but i will get tach converted just be a lot simpler may not be exactly in appearance as the other factory tach's that most guy's have but i like the look's of it {dare to be different} I appreciate all the help and comment's ,thank's

Re: tach conversion

I got mine from one of the truck catalogs. Hooked it into the "tach" port on my HEI distributor cap, a hot ignition wire as I recall and works great. I'm not into complete stock issue since mine is a complete 4x4 mutt, but I like the simple look.
